Safety Measures to Take When Cleaning

14 November 2024  |  Admin

At Bee Cleen we understand that safety is paramount when it comes to cleaning. Cleaning can sometimes involve hazardous chemicals or challenging environments, which is why we take every measure to protect our team. From comprehensive safety procedures to eco-friendly cleaning products, we are committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for our cleaning staff. Some of the measures we take include;

1. Wearing PPE and appropriate clothing.

All staff are provided with protective gloves and are advised to wear close toed shoes to avoid skin coming in to contact with any chemicals. Footwear is also important in order to avoid slipping on any wet floors.

2. Ventilating rooms.

We advise all staff to ventilate rooms where possible whilst cleaning to avoid exposure to fumes. If this is not possible we advise taking regular breaks when working with stronger chemicals.

3. Educating staff on proper use of products.

All staff are provided with a cleaning product safety sheet which details exactly how to use each cleaning product. Many of the products we work with need to be diluted into a trigger spray bottle so staff are provided with instructions on the ratios and how to do this safely.

4. Never mix cleaning products.

Mixing cleaning products can be incredibly dangerous. Many household cleaners contain reactive chemicals that, when combined, can produce toxic fumes or even dangerous reactions.

5. Dispose of Products Safely and Correctly.

Correct disposal of cleaning products and materials is just as important as proper usage. Improper disposal can lead to environmental damage or chemical hazards.

6. Use eco friendly products where possible.

Many of the products we use at Bee Cleen are eco friendly as these are far less harsh to the environment and the user.

Staff safety is of upmost importance to us here at Bee Cleen. If you have any questions about any of our safety procedures please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
